I'm confused by this product. It clearly states on EACH of the sockets; 3.1A. But when plugged in, and tested against two mobile phones, it gave a maximum of 850ma for each. Even if only one was plugged in. When I'd finally set up the wiring as I wanted it, I gave a more usable 1.2A to both phones. (BTW, both phones were low on charge, so I'd be expecting the full output to be delivered; it wasn't that they were just in 'trickle mode' for the final top-up. And all of tests mentioned here were done with the same brand new, high charge capacity USB-C cables.) Further, the output designation on the top of the plug sates the following: "OUTPUT: QC3.0 0.5V=3.0A 9V=2.0A 12V=1.5A 5V/2.4A = USB1+USB2+USB3+USB4+USB5" This suggests that the TOTAL of the USB output is only 5V/2.4A. And I wasn't even getting that even with a single phone plugged in. So why is EACH port labelled '3.1A' ? It makes no sense. I wish I had a much heavier-duty device, to see if that's the issue, and the plug is merely being 'clever'. But currently I only have phones, PC peripherals, and smaller devices that are USB-charged. Another plug with only 3 ports (Output: 5V-3A 15 Max) was quite happy to give 1.5A to each phone, and again that didn't change with just a single phone plugged in, so there's some current limiting going on there. USB sockets directly on my power strip give 1A on both outputs. All very confusing. Anyhow. If you're expecting (as I was) a high total output from each port on this plug (or even on just a single port) you're just not going to get it. (Not necessarily a bad thing, as to fast a charge will limit battery life, ofc.) I'm going to keep using it, 'just in case' it's being clever enough not to overload my devices. And for the extra protection it clams to offer. But I'm already so wary from the packaging and how the product is presented that I'm sceptical about how valid that is too, TBH. (Even more confusing/amusing is the packaging. On one side of the box, it states in full corporate mumbo-jumbo finery: "I CANNOT CHOOSE THE BEST. THE BEST CHOOSES ME." And on the other side of the box? "THANKS FOR CHOOSING US" The only possible inference I can draw from those two statements is that the company is flat-out stating that they aren't the best. lol.)
