Super useful design with two flaws. One is that the voltage adjustment knob is too stiff to turn, and invariably the voltage overshoots significantly before I can set it to a correct voltage level. Second problem was that one of the jack plugs arrived with damaged conducting plates, meaning that the bayonet fitting didn't work until I straightened out the damaged metal. This turned out to be straight forward and easy, so no great setback - just puzzled how it got damaged in the first place.

The product works well, though the chopper in the PSU can be quite loud on higher voltage settings. As others have noted, the voltage change control responds a little slowly but works perfectly well. I'd set the voltage before connecting to the powered device anyway so I don't see this as an issue. The polarity inversion cable shipped with my unit was straight wired, meaning there is no polarity inversion when fitted. I've raised the issue with Amazon as if an item to be powered requires centre tip negative and it isn't protected against reverse polarity it could be damaged. Lucky I checked the cable before use. I've added an image to show how I checked the polarity inversion cable and I've used the power tips as a weight to hold my Fluke's probes to the cable. The image shows ground is connected straight through, as is positive.

Works good but use with caution. You could easily and instantly damage expensive electronics because voltage is variable and it's easy to accidentally change with a light touch of the control knob. I recommend using a meter to confirm the voltage before plugging anything in and then carefully put the control in a place where it will not fall or be disturbed.

Early days yet, but this power adaptor seems like it will be extremely useful. Just dial in the desired output voltage (up to 24 volts, 3 amps) and use one of the many size adaptors for the output cord to attach it to most low voltage devices in the home. You can use it for any application I've come up with so far. Will it last? Time will tell.

This is a great little power supply for providing various voltages to random devices you lost the charger to. I found a used camcorder at Goodwill for $5 that didn't have a power supply. I only needed it for a few weeks while I converted old family videos from High8 to digital. This had the right size barrel connector to swap into it and I dialed in the correct voltage for the camcorder. No muss. No fuss. Completed my project and now I can donate the camera back to Goodwill for someone else to use (but keep this little beauty around). One thing of note that I wish they'd improve, however: The dial is SUPER touchy. I'm talking "breath on it and it'll jump by .1V" kind of touchy. I highly recommend dialing in the voltage BEFORE you attach it to anything, as the sweep is very fast and very twitchy until you dial it in.
