We used the GANA Gold Plated 3-Port HDMI Switch before upgrading to a smart TV, and it worked perfectly for our needs at the time. It allowed us to connect multiple devices—such as a streaming box, DVD player, and gaming console—to our older TV, which only had one HDMI port. The switch was easy to set up and use. It automatically detected the active device, and the gold-plated connectors ensured a stable, high-quality connection. The picture and sound were consistently excellent, even when switching between devices. Now that we have a smart TV with multiple HDMI ports, we no longer need it, but it’s a great product for anyone with an older TV or limited HDMI inputs. As others have said, this simply does the job of switching between up to 3 1080p DVI HDMI inputs without fuss. I use it to switch between PC and XBox on the single DVI HDMI input of my TV to save the wear and tear of switching cables. It will usually automatically detect and switch to the active input but, if not, it is simple to press a single button on the switch to do so. Mine (bought August 2024) also came with a USB A to USB C cable which can be used to supply additional power to the switch via a USB C connection in case the connected devices can't supply sufficient power themselves (although this wasn't described in the supplied documentation). This is useful to ensure consistent functionality and I was able to supply this additional power from a USB A socket on my TV.

Works great has even improved picture quality especially on chrome cast because my bedroom tv is a basic Panasonic smart tv apps such as Disney ,paramount and discovery are not available for this model I have to cast the quality wasn’t bad but this now looks like my other apps

Bought to replace same item bought 3 years ago which has failed. This model seems to be updated, the old one was powered by the HDMI connection to TV, so connected new one the same way it worked for about 4 days then stopped, I had to use the USB cable to power it and it works ok again. Seems there is not enough power via HDMI?? JT

It's a bit weird. I bought this item and it worked fine for over a year. But then it broke (my fault) so I ordered the same item exactly from Amazon (buy this time again). But what I was sent was subtly different. It now has a charging port in the side and charger cable included, indicating that it needs a USB charge to keep connected. I don't know whether it needs continuous charge (there are no instructions) but the device keeps cutting out when a device sleeps and then won't wake up. Sent it back. Not what I ordered.

This device works - you can connect up to x3 HDMI devices to it and all connect to your TV and display with no noticeable issues in picture or sound quality. I currently have an Xbox One, Blu-Ray Player and Amazon Fire Stick attached through it and it is easy to flick between each of the three devices by just pushing the button on the splitter device. However... I recommend you get a power socket extension lead that includes individual on/off tabs per socket, so that you can turn off the power to the devices you are not using, as this splitter will randomly try and switch the source input channel on your TV to another input. I have my Virgin Media box plugged into HDMI port 1 and this splitter plugged into HDMI port 2 on my TV. Since first using this splitter, the screen will randomly cut out - sometimes when I'm on HDMI port 1 but mainly when I'm using any of the devices attached to the splitter - and it will try to switch to another source channel on my TV (most of which I've since deactivated to try and stop this from happening). For example, even when my blu-ray player is turned off and I'm not using it, the splitter will randomly switch it on and try to switch over to it - even when I'm in the middle of a game on the Xbox. It doesn't do this all of the time, its hard to describe the regularity with which this issue occurs as sometimes it happens repetitively in a short span, but then afterwards it will not occur for the rest of the day. Overall this splitter device works fine with seemingly no issue in picture and audio performance, but the random switching of source channels is very irritating.
